Is Your Car Ready For Summer Driving?

(SPM Wire) Is your car ready for those long summer road trips?

A pre-trip inspection can help you avoid break-downs and save gas, say the experts at the Car Care Council.

Before hitting the road, do a thorough inspection. Schedule a tune-up and check your brakes and battery connection. Also check filters and fluids, including engine oil, power steering and brake and transmission fluids, as well as windshield washer solvent and antifreeze/coolant.

Inspect hoses and belts that can become cracked, brittle, frayed, loose or show signs of excessive wear. Check tires for bulges, bald spots, pressure and tread. And make sure your gas cap isn’t damaged, loose or missing.

Then hit the road!
